Program areas at FHAR

Residential service provides residential facilities with support services for adults who have developmental disabilities behavioral disorders histories of neglect abuse or previously resided in developmental centers. The services are designed to help residents with independent living skills and reduction of maladaptive behaviors. 55 clients were permanent residents with FHAR in 2023.
Supported Living Services SLS along with Independent Living Training ILT serve: Individuals who gradulated from FHARs residential service program and who reside in their homes or families or those who live in FHARs supported living facilities. The services help the program participants to live semi-independently in their communities. There were 52 clients under FHARs SLS and ILT programs in 2023.
Vocational and social programs or day programs include Adult Development ADP and Employment Support Services ESS. ADP is a pre-vocational program for developement mentally adults. ADP helps reduce of maladaptive behaviours that prevents participants attending regular standard vocational programs or work settings. ESS emphasizes independent and vocational skills employment opportunities and volunteer experiences with non-disabled peers. Participants eventually are integrated into the workforce while supported by FHAR staff to ensure successful long-term placement. Day programs attracted 85 participants every month in 2023.
