Description
Family in Distress equips and transforms under-served individuals and ex-offenders through programs, tools, and opportunities to start new lives through entrepreneurship. They act as a developer, educator, and catalyst for disrupting the cycles of incarceration and poverty in their communities. Their program includes assessment, individual and group mentoring, education, training, shadowing, and supportive services. To graduate from the program, each participant is required to complete two out of three training tracks.

Program areas at FID

During the year, Fid provided assessment, individual and group mentoring, education, training, shadowing, and supportive services to our program participants. in order to graduate from our program, each participant had to complete two of three training tracks which included specialized education and training in courage to change, employability, leadership and entrepreneurial training. 95 of our participants completed and graduated from our program. Upon graduating they received college credit hours from aidan university. Many started new businesses, and secured employment at the conclusion of the program.
