Program areas at Family Promise of Tualatin Valley
Founded in 1988, Family Promise is a nationwide program that is dedicated to serving families with children who are homeless or at risk of homelessness. Local affiliates organize congregations, civic organizations, social service agencies and community members into volunteer coalitions. The Family Promise of Tualatin Valley, an affiliate of the nationwide program, was formed as a separate and independent not-for-profit organization in october, 2016 and opened its doors to serving families experiencing homelessness in march, 2019. Family Promise of Tualatin Valley serves families and adults experiencing houselessness in Washington county. Our extensive network of civic, business and religious organizations help us to provide enrichment activities, life skills tainings, meals, and a supportive community for our guests every day of the year.family Promise of Tualatin Valley advocates for families experiencing homelessness at the city, county, and state level. By offering eviction prevention services in our community, temporary shelter with case management including housing navigation and administering graduate supports for families placed into housing, Family Promise of Tualatin Valley helps to ensure the long-term independence and economic stability of our participants. Our goal is not simply getting families back into housing; it is to end their cycle of homelessness through a community-based response.
