Parents as teachers is a home visitation program that supports parents/caregivers and their children between the ages of birth to five years old. Monthly or bi-weekly home visits with a certified parent educator provide child development information, age-appropriate child development activities, regular child development screenings, parenting skills support, and connections to community resources. Other support systems are offered such as parenting classes, group activities and community-wide child developmental screenings.

The literacy council offers one-on-one and group tutoring sessions to adults that focus on strengthening skills in reading, writing and/or speaking english. Volunteer tutors are trained and supported by literacy council staff. Students and tutors meet together weekly to work on the students' personal goals which may include: learning english, improving reading or writing skills, passing the written driver's licenses test, studying for the u.s. Citizenship test and naturalization interview, and much more.
