The Farhang Foundation celebrates and promotes Iranian art and culture for the benefit of the community at large. The foundation joined forces with the Getty Villa Museum to present the historic exhibition Persia: Ancient Iran and the Classical World, showcasing ancient Iran's artifacts on a grand scale. The foundation supports and advocates for programs and lecture series that promote Iranian tradition, cultural events like Nowruz, musical performances, among others.

Program areas at Farhang Foundation

Farhang Foundation joined forces with the getty villa museum in presenting the historic exhibiition persia: ancient iran and the classical world. This was the single largest exhibition of its kind showcasing anciant iran, featuring artifacts from many major musums and instituions from around the globe, including the louvre, the british museum, the met, and many more. The exhibition, which ran from april 6 through august 8, 2022 also featured a multimedia experience, as well as many lectures, family festivals, and musical concerts throughout its run and was visited by over 140,000 visitors.
Farhang Foundation was proud to present the inaugural concert by the new iranshahr orchestra at zipper hall, the coluburn school of music on february 11, 2023. This incredible concert featured the iranshahr orchestra under the direction of dr. shahab paranj and featured special guest artists including virtuoso sohrab pournazeri and soprano hila pittmann. This event was attended by a maximum capacity audience.
Farhang Foundation and the pacific symphony were proud to once again join forces in presenting the annual nowruz (iranian new year) concert at costa mesa's segerstrom concert hall in orange county on march 26, 2023. The concert, titled unity for freedom featured the pacific symphony orchestra and special guests kayhan kalhor, azam ali, sussan deyhim, and tara ghasemieh. The event was attended by a maximum capacity audience.
Promotion and celebration of iranian cultural heritage by supporting and advocating for programs and lecture series by sponsoring art and cultural events to promote iranian tradition and celebration of the new year, "nowruz", and by sponsoring musical and theatrical performances, plays, films and poetry reading in collaboration with the university of southern California, the los angeles museum of art, university of California, los angeles, and university of California, irvine.
