Fast Blackfeet is a group of community leaders, health professionals, educators, and involved citizens within the Blackfeet Nation who are dedicated to promoting a healthy, strong, and food secure Blackfeet Nation. In 2022, the organization served 13,805 families, provided 30 classes and created 10 new produce/tea gardens. Fast Blackfeet also initiated client choice shopping in July, started bi-weekly out-of-town deliveries in September and hired a full-time pantry assistant.

Program areas at Fast Blackfeet

In 2023, the organization's pantry served 23,675 families, distributed 282,536 pounds of healthy and culturally relevant foods, and received 68,000 lbs of food rescue. Through the nutritian education program, the organization also: increase in medical nutrition therapy appointments. 132 individuals had at least oneappointment. Distributed 22,900 produce vouchers 34 cooking classes completed this year added a traditional food series cooking class added food demonstrations and samples during food distributions. Diabetes prevention program recruited 15 participants through the growing health program, the organization also: added 10 new gardeners to the growing health program. Held 3 tea blending classes that focused on native tea ingredients. 10 participants felt more confident in their ability to grow teas and garden vegtables. 5 gardeners donated produce and most reported eating their produce at home buffalo harvest this year: 1 harvest which was open to the public was attended by 150+ community members 856 pounds of meat was processed for the food pantry, the bones were used in a cookingclass for bone broth and the hide and organs were gifted to elders in the community. Held 1 plant rescue event for the public. 4 on-the-land workshops offered to 2nd year tea gardeners
