Program areas at Faulkner Morgan Archive
Archives and Research: Making the collections available for in-person and virtual researchers, publications and institutions, answering questions, leading to resources. About 100 people participated in 2023. Public Presentations on Kentucky's LGBTQ History: including public libraries, museums, schools and universities, and other nonprofits, reaching about 1,000 participants each year. Collection activities: collecting archival material and oral histories related to the LGBTQ history of Kentucky. In 2023 the archive itself had unusually large expenditures due to remodeling the new facility. Grants were received to cover these expenses, which were substantially completed in 2023. These are one-time expenditures.
Here, Black, Femme, and Queer, an traveling exhibit featuring stories of Black Kentuckians featured in FMA's collections, displayed at the UNiversity of Kentucky and Eastern Kentucky University.
Last Gospel of the Pagan Babies Events & Activities: A documentary screening of Last Gospel of the Pagan Babies at Louisville Public Library, Main Library, March 15, 2023, around 30 participants. Last Gospel of the Pagan Babies Film Viewing and Talk Back at the University of Kentucky William T. Young Library, organized by Josh Porter. About 40 people attended. April 10, 2023. Last Gospel of the Pagan Babies film viewing at the Lexington Public Library, October 8, 2023, around 20 participants. Last Gospel of the Pagan Babies film viewing at the Kentucky Theatre, in partnership with Institute 193, October 11, 2023, around 500 participants. Lexington Pride Festival Booth: talked to thousands of people, distributed over 5,000 maps, brochures, pins, and stickers, added around 100 new households to our mailing list and collected around $300 in donations.
