Program areas at FDP Foundation
Tri-annual meetings In conjunction with the Federal Demonstration Partnership, the Foundation helps organize and finance three meetings per year for the purpose of bringing together researchers, institutional research administrators, federal program officers, federal research administrators, and technical people. These meetings are used to devise ways to streamline the administration of federally funded research and development projects that will collect the data needed to determine if suggested solutions are viable. The meetings are also used to vet potential policy changes before implementation in order to determine if there will be any unforseen detrimental effects of the new policy.
Demonstrations and projects Many projects that are initiated in the Federal Demonstration Partnership are created due to the changing landscape of federal oversight of research. Since these changes are not forseen at the time of budget preparation for federal grants, they are not included in the annual budget of the Federal Demonstration Partnership. When such projects arise, the FDP Foundation will finance part or all of these projects. Some of the costs that are included for these projects are travel, conference calls, and survey development and implementation.
