Program areas at Feast
Community food access program: recovers high quality farm-fresh produce in partnership with la food recovery organizations, providing weekly food distributions to participants' households. In 2023, Feast distributed over 50,000lbs of recovered produce to our program participants and community at large. To facilitate the distribution of food, Feast delivers the bagged produce either directly to participants' homes, or to our program sites, where participants are able to access the food without additional transportation needs. In addition, our food access program delivers food scholarships to program participants weekly while they are enrolled in one of our core programs (wellness/family feeding)# of people served: 1,144 (includes participants + community members served with either food scholarships, fresh produce, direct assistance or a combination of these services)
Leadership training program: Feast's path to scale includes providing three-day leadership training for community members and health educators. Once trained, these leaders are prepared to bring Feast's programs to their communities and teach our curriculum and programs.
Core curriculums program - in order to promote sustainable health and wellness, Feast offers two food education curriculums: wellness and family feeding. (see schedule o)
