Program areas at FOCUS
The focus food pantry program served 7,683 households with 20,782 individuals with at least a week's food, 21 meals per person at each monthly visit. We continued Our collaboration with Feeding america of eastern Wisconsin by using their direct connect program which allowed us to distribute 186,864 additional pounds of food. In addition we collected and distributed 485,243 pounds of donated food from the community and other free sources to the households we serve.
The focus family backpacks program provides nutritious weekend meals in a discrete backpack for Wisconsin rapids school families facing hunger. During 2023, an average of 145 backpacks were packed each week that in total provide over 16,330 meals for the community.
The focus neighborhood meal program provides free meals to anyone in need of a meal or a connection to Our community. We have returned to serving eat-in meals, serving meals every thursday of the month and serving about 145 meals each week.
