Program areas at Festival at Sandpoint
The Festival at Sandpoint presents an annual concert series during The last weekend of july and first weekend of august on The shores of lake pend oreille in Sandpoint, Idaho, making exceptional artists and great performances accessible to The community and surrounding region. The Festival strives to cultivate cultural and ethnic diversity and to pursue all opportunities to inspire, enlighten, and educate our community with The greatest possible music and performing arts of The world, forms new and old, and artists known and unknown. We curate an eclectic line-up including classical symphonic, folk, jazz, blues, world, rock, country, and popular music at prices that are affordable to our local audiences, making Sandpoint a better place to live. We present our concerts in an intimate setting that celebrates The natural beauty and charm of our small city, making Sandpoint an attractive place to visit.
In addition to presenting our summer performance series, The Festival is committed to providing corresponding educational opportunities for The community through The following programs: youth music outreach: we provide school performances and/or hands-on music lessons for pre-k through 5th grade throughout schools in bonner county. This program introduces and exposes kids to music in different forms, with The hope of fostering a lifetime love of music. Ticket donation program: we work strategically with local organizations and schools to donate tickets to underprivileged youth and families to attend our family matinee concert or our symphonic grand finale who otherwise would not have The means to attend. We focus these efforts on The youth, special needs, and senior communities. Instrument assistance program: we offer a free instrument library, offering students and adults in our community access to instruments without The typical financial barrier. Strings programs: beginning, intermediate, and advanced orchestra instruction free of cost with community concerts twice a year. This is open to youth and adults. Family matinee concert: an affordable opportunity for kids and their families to share music with performances by world-class musicians and a full orchestra. Scholarships for college-bound students: instrumental, songwriting, music industry, graphic design, and vocal performance. Internships: an educational and professional opportunity for anyone looking to learn more about The music industry, how music festivals operate, and who is looking to build their resume. Job duties are focused on day-to-day office operations, customer service/relations, marketing, nonprofit and fundraising operations, hospitality, merchandise, and more.
