Fighting Back Santa Maria Valley fosters youth, prevents truancy, provides safe havens, and promotes drug prevention. Its mission is to partner with all members of the Santa Maria community to achieve resilience against substance use, reduce violence and promote a healthy and safe environment for our youth and families. It provides county-wide tobacco prevention services for the Santa Barbara County Education Office, serving as the tobacco used prevention education coordinator. Additionally, FBSMV offers prevention, intervention, and cessation programs to children and youth.

Fbsmv provides tobacco prevention services county-wide for the Santa barbara county education office. Fbsmv is the tobacco used prevention education coordinator for sbceo. Fbsmv provides prevention, intervention and cessation programs to children and youth as well as leadership and peer prevention programming through their fresh air club tobacco (free) (fact) at the high schools in the community. Fbsmv also provides cannabis education classes for the sbc dept of probation. These classes are evidence-based interventions to prevent youth substance abuse/use. Fbsmv provides public health services to the community to address vaccine hesitancy to reduce covid-19 cases and sexually transmitted diseases prevention.fbsmv provides targeted social-emotional support for students and families in the Santa Maria Valley. The target groups are students in foster care, homeless students, and students involved in conflicts/violence. The students receive case management, somatic regulation techniques, mediation, and peer support. Their parents receive support for basic needs including housing, basic needs, legal support, and educational classes. Fbsmv is the transitional aged homeless youth (16-24) provider for northern Santa barbara county. Fbsmv provides street outreach, rapid rehousing and permanent supportive housing at their 4 bedroom facility, the resilient place. They also provide case management for this age group to keep young persons' housing in place preventing them from becoming homeless again.
