Film Tampa Bay, a not-for-profit public-private partnership division of Visit Tampa Bay, empowers and facilitates filming in the Hillsborough County region. In fiscal year 2022, the Film Commission generated $15,241,500 in local spend to support Hillsborough County businesses through pulling 328 permits and attracting production companies and producers to the area.

In fiscal year 2023, the film commission had the following accomplishments:Met with more than 80 individuals/companies in Tampa Bay that are utilizing digital media technologies.Worked with Film Florida to maintain emerging filmmaker scholarships.Completed 12 industry video spotlights on local companies produced a commercial and campaign highlighting Hillsborough County.Maintained podcast "loose framing" completing 33 episodes.Film Festivals:- attended Sunscreen Film Festival- attended Gasparilla Film Festival- attended Tribeca Film Festival- attended Cannes Film Festival- attended Sundance Film FestivalIndustry Conferences:- attended Film Florida quarterly and annual meetingsFamiliarization tours:- held fam tours for numerous projects, resulting in 7 feature films shooting in Tampa BayFilm Florida - elected vice president as well as served as board president of TBCN (Tampa Bay Community Network), Tampa Bays public access tv station.Continued community event in partnership with Tampa Theatre - hosted four community screenings free to local residents with filmmakers in attendance.
