Program areas at FIRS

Financial Intermediation Research Society's sole activity is to organize a single academic conference on the topic of Financial Intermediation. Preparation for the conference, however, is a year-long process. This is a relatively large conference where academics present their Research in seminars organized into sessions by topic. With the exception of several special sessions, each paper is formally critiqued by an academic discussant who offers criticisms, comments and suggestions. The sessions are open to all conference registrants. Papers are submitted to a conference program committee that makes a decision on whether to accept the papers.
