Program areas at Find Feed and Restore
Restore Lake will develop aquaponic gardens on our property. Each garden will produce 14 tons of vegetables each year. These gardens will donate 4 to 6 tons of vegetables a year to food pantries and individuals in need. Additional funds developed from selling remaining vegetables will go towards affordable housing projects. This program will combat food insecurity and homelessness throughout Lake County Florida.
Care Coach Our Care Coach Mobile Unit provides hot meals, fresh fruit, housing assistance and health screening to underserved low income communities. We gather individuals in underserved populations through a free dinner and movie night, and provide 8 to 12 different resource partners that offer free services to the community including mental health counseling, bill payment assistance, childcare resources and housing assistance.
Housing First Through their Housing First Program FFR purchases and accepts donations of travel trailers and park model homes that they utilize to take families with children who live in cars or in tents and place them into a stable environment within an RV park in the suburbs of Lake County Florida. We allow them to stay 6 to 12 months rent and utilities free while we provide free case management services that include financial budgeting classes, credit report education, economic meal planning, interview preparation, resume writing along with professional counseling. After a 6 to 12 month period, the client will begin to pay lot rent and utilities for their low income supportive housing as a building block to becoming self-sufficient. We then assist the families with finding apartments in their budget range to transition over to their own apartment/permanent housing or be able to purchase their own park model trailer home through our ownership assistance program.
