Finnegans Community Fund

Social enterprise:during 2020, Finnegans Community Fund continued support for the finnovation lab, to operate a 10,000 square foot social enterprise, workspace focused on catalyzing social entrepreneurship and furthering charitable purpose. The collaboration provides co-working and office space, education, technical assistance, and other support for impact driven entrepreneurs and investors. As an example of programming, finnovation lab provides a 9 month fellowship program that supports early-stage social entrepreneurs who have bold ideas for sustainable, systems-level change. In previous years, Finnegans Community Fund was involved in Fund raising to support the finnovation lab operations to further charitable purpose and granted $25,000 in 2020.the Fund continued support of the neighborhood development center's services for minority owned businesses and business outreach in the elliot park neighborhood, and our minneapolis/st paul Community. $32,000 was granted in 2020 to support these businesses access to technology, made especially critical during the covid-19 pandemic.

Alleviate hunger:through Finnegans Community Fund's various "reverse food truck" fundraising events held during 2020. A total of 955 pounds of food were donated by the general public. These contributions were granted by the Fund to partners to end hunger within local communities.in addition to this, a large food and supply drive was done to support model cities residents in the rondo neighborhood of st. paul, after the social uprising. An ongoing food drive was done to support aeon residents in our elliot park neighborhood throughout the 2020 year as well.
