Program areas at Firebrand Resiliency Collectiv
Readynow(neighborhoods organized for wildfire) is a bottom-up community wildfire preparedness program that expands our service population to include rural communities at risk. Activities in 2023 included neighbor-to-neighbor home assessments to reduce wildfire risk, the establishment of more firewise communities in our region, buidling community liaison programs for opportunities for communities at risk, more funding opportunities for home hardening and fuels reduction, and promoting prescribed burn opportunities for resilient, climate-adapted landscapes and improved wildlife habitat.
The loss & recovery project uses geospatial information to visualize data, in order to empower a more collaborative relationship between the public, privatge, and nonprofit sectors to affect a more equitable recovery and create more effective community engagement and direct involvement in recovery and resilliency planning efforts.
The zone captain program focused on individual recovery, works with survivors to navigatge resources and troubleshoot recovery needs at our survivor meetup. In 2023 we partnered with reoregon and ohcs to launch the homeowner assistance and reconstruction program (harp) to offer financial assistance to help homeowners repair, rebuild, or replace homes lost or danaged in the 2020 labor day disasters.
