Provided the general public with information concerning the importance of preserving the Flint river from polution and dams for the present and future generations. These educational materials are provided via printed materials, online blogs and articles, public speaking engagements and the hosting of special events that provide the opportunity to speak directly with those who share in the objective of perserving the Flint river ecosystem. Encouraged the public to influence their elected officials to promote good policies to protect clean, flowing water.
Initiated investigation of polluted dirt runoff from a solar farm development in lee county.
Continued an investigation of a major subdivision in fayette county for transporting in soil which has resulted in pollution to the wetlands and main stem of whitewater creek. Filed lawsuit under the us clean water act to resolve issues at this location.
4th exempt purpose accomplishment - continued work in the upper and lower Flint to diminish the effects of over permitting of water withdrawals on low flows. 5th exempt purpose accomplishment - ongoing monitoring activities in upson county to ensure compliance with the legal settlement agreement with a commercial enterprise regarding prior infractions of the clean water act 6th exempt purpose accomplishment - monitored process of buildout of remedies for sewer overflows and pollution of the Flint by the city of albany. 7th exempt purpose accomplishment - initiated public campaign to preserve public fishing access rights in the upper Flint mainstem. 8th exempt purpose accomplishment - initiated investigation of moderate source of pollution into waters of the united states and waters of the state of Georgia by a fertilizer mixing plant in miller county. 9th exempt purpose accomplishment - initiated a grass roots campaign to inform the public regarding a proposed rock quary in talbot county, Georgia.
