For more than a decade, the Florida Association of Health Plans, Inc. has represented health insurance plans and has been an advocate for quality health care for consumers, the business community and the State of Florida. The Florida Association of Health Plans, Inc. is comprised of 19 state licensed health maintenance organizations and preferred provider organizations who provide health care services to millions of Florida residents in 64 counties.

Informed Health plan members of legislative mandates and other policy issues, the dates and procedures for implementation of said policies, and their effect on the delivery of managed care in Florida.
Provided actuarial data to the agency for Health care administration detailing the true costs of the medicaid managed care program in Florida. Created committees of Health plan experts to bring issues to the attention of regulatory agencies and legislators concerning execcsive drug costs, physician reimbursement rates and other cost control measures
