Florida Ocean Alliance protects and enhances Florida's coastal ocean resources by implementing a strategic policy plan. They sponsored and held a leadership conference for 150 people on the Blue Economy to educate stakeholders on the value of the marine industries and ocean economy to Florida's economy. Educating policy makers on the importance of oceans and coasts to Florida's environment and economy is a primary goal, with a focus on educating stakeholders on how connected the environment and ocean economy are, including many natural infrastructures such as mangroves and beaches.

Program areas at Florida Ocean Alliance

To educate policy makers on importance of Oceans and Coasts to Florida environment & economy, which was achieved with an Oceans Day event. Activities: Exhibits were held in the State Capitol Rotunda 2nd and 3rd floor, and workshops held in the Historic Capitol.
Develop a Strategic Policy Plan for Florida's Oceans and Coasts: This included Steering Committee meetings including zoom meetings, and finalizing the economic impact study and strategic plan development. This included a final report to the FDEP.
