Educate and engage communities in issues, encourage them to run for public office, and act as messengers and spokespeople while building relationships and alliances across the political spectrum with partners who share our values and support our agenda.? We hosted and co-sponsored Second Chance workshops.? We enjoined election protection work in the 2023 elections.? Reached out to every Florida Senate and House of Representatives member during in-district meetings.? Worked with state lawmakers to introduce bills that tackle some of the most critical issues to our members, including housing, jobs, and opportunity.? We also educated our partners and thousands of members on new rules for organizations registering people to vote.? We began our Know Your Rights campaign.
We have collaborated with the City of Orlando to reduce gun violence. Our goal is to reduce gun crime by 30-60% as part of Orlandos Community Violence Intervention Initiative. We manage a team of neighborhood change agents to reach out and engage the highest-risk young people in Orlando. Well move participants away from violence and dangerous situations and move them toward a non-violent life.
