The organization distributes Food to organizations in 5 Eastern nm counties. During the current reporting year, about 1,590,642 pounds of Food was distributed.the major programs of the Food Bank are continued on sch o.usda/tefap commodity distribution - this program distributes usda commodities under the emergency Food assistance program (tefap) to area sites for distribution to the Food insecure within a five-county area in Eastern New Mexico including curry, roosevelt, debaca, quay and guadalupe counties.mobile Food pantries - this program is run using commodity foods from the usda/tefap program with gleaned produce, bakery products and non commodity foods within a five-county area covering Eastern New mexico.food for kids backpack - this program provides a non-descript bag of individually wrapped Food items for weekend consumption by elementary school children suffering from hunger as identified by school personnel. This program is offered to elementary schools in curry and roosevelt counties.agency programs - a variety of Food rescue and purchased Food items are made available to pantries for their programs at a shared fee of $0.19 per pound.
