On-site live-in food production Boot Camps; free group gardening seminars, demonstrations, and garden & greenhouse tours. Boot Camps are conducted at the Foundation's facility in Missouri, where groups of 30-40 people are housed, fed, and receive personal instruction and actual garden, greenhouse, and shop experience, with daily quizzes and a comprehensive final examination. Free 1/2-day group gardening seminars are offered throughout the United States and Canada, with groups ranging anywhere from 15 to 250 people. Both classroom and hands-on in the garden work are included. Each seminar location has a host garden that is created or expanded to give actual experience to participants.
continuing support of humanitarian gardening demonstration & training projects in Armenia, Madagascar, Colombia, Zimbabwe, Africa, & the Philippines. Consultations by telephone & internet with project supervisors & funding entities, to answer questions & provide advanced instructions. Provide needed training materials, tools, seeds, & fertilizers. The Philippines project is growing 100+ acres in 4 gardens, on 3 islands, and is feeding many thousands of students their daily noon meal, substantially improving their health and well-being
Publishing and providing vegetable gardening educational and training books, CDs, DVDs, videos, tools, fertilizers, and other supplies by way of the world-wide web, with several internet websites, including www.growfood.com and www.foodforeveryone.org. Hosting several group gardening websites and web pages. Writing articles for social media and print publications. Producing gardening blogs, podcasts, and Youtube videos. Creating and enhancing training programs for Certified Gardener, Certified Master Gardener, and Certified Master Gardening Instructor designations, including print, videos, and online educational resources. Updating, revising, and publishing comprehensive Gardening Course instructional manual, as well as an abbreviate edition of the Foundation's college-level agronomy text Food For Everyone.
