For Love of Children (FLOC)

In the 2022-2023 program year, floc served 232 unduplicated students across our programs (i.e. one student enrolled in both math and reading tutoring would be considered one student although they participated in two programs).100% of our students have graduated from high school on-time. 100% of math and literacy students improved their proficiency by at least half a grade level after 56 hours of tutoring. We are pleased to have awarded $40,174 in scholarships to floc's post-secondary students. Eight out of ten students increased their vocabularies over six weeks of summer camp. In June FLOC partnered with Shout Mouse Press for our Annual Book Festival. During the festival Joseph, a two-time published author read one of his books. Through his work, Joseph showed students that their voices matter and their stories deserve to be told. At FLOC, we focus on more than just tutoring intervention. We also want to set our students up for success outside the classroom and inspire them to go after their dreams, no matter what path they choose.
