Program areas at For the Love of Cats
Help 'Em Keep 'EmPays for Emergency and Wellness Care for cats owned by low income families as well as emergency care for injured cats rescued by good samaritans. Our goal is to reduce abandonment, euthanasia or surrender of owned cats due to lack of funds for their urgent care. This program saved the lives of 133 cats in 2023 and the need continues to grow for cats every year that receive life savings veterinary treatments and are able to remain in their loving homes through this program.
Pet Food PantryOur concern for the possible abandonment and welfare of pets during the pandemic was the catalyst for starting this program in 2020. We have supplied over 76,000 lbs. of dog and cat food to familes in need through local distribution partnerships since 2020.
Trap/Neuter/Return (TNR) and Low Income Spay/Neuter TNR is a proven method of population control for community feral cats. All cats are sterilized, ear tipped and vaccinated and then returned to their location with a caregiver to supply daily food and water. We have TNR'd over 2,250 cats since 2002. Our low income spay/neuter program keeps cats from being abandoned, surrendered or euthanized by paying for spay/neuter veterinary services. We have sterilized almost 600 cats through this program since 2002.
