Program areas at Forensic Science and Protective Medicine Collaboration
Fspmc supports the educational, charitable and scientific purposes of the medical college of Wisconsin, Inc. ("mcw"), a Wisconsin nonstock, nonprofit corporation, by facilitating development projects in furtherance of mcw's exempt purposes. Fspmc's current project, a historic public-private Collaboration with the state of Wisconsin and milwaukee county, is to develop and construct a Forensic Science facility. The construction of the facility is ongoing. When construction is completed, the Forensic Science facility will be sold to and used by the state for the state crime lab and the county for the offices of the medical examiner and emergency management to aid in the advancement of Forensic Science, Forensic operations, and emergency management. Fspmc's activities in developing the Forensic Science facility lessen the development burdens for the state and county. The project will also further mcw's exempt educational and scientific purposes by providing an opportunity for mcw students and professors to collaborate on Forensic and other matters with both county and state personnel in the Forensic Science facility. This provides unique research and educational opportunities for mcw faculty and students that would not otherwise be available on campus.
