Program areas at Fort Bend Regional Council on Substance Abuse

Youth services program:in 2023, fbrc's youth services provided prevention education and skills training to 2,594 youth in their schools. This was done using the youth connection and the life skills training programs. 10,232 youth and 2,266 adults participated in prevention focused positive alternative activities and community-based activities in schools, virtually and in the community. Fbrc conducted 380 informational and interactive presentations for an audience of 11,192 people. We continued social media outreach through campaigns that included 320 messages related to youth Substance use prevention, these included positive messages about behavioral health and linked our community to resources. Fbrc's " Fort Bend community prevention coalition" began in 2013, its goal is to prevent Substance use among youth through environmental strategies. The coalition's 45 adult members attended 10 meetings during 2023. This group planned the 9th annual drug symposium to educate our community about current drug trends and related prevention topics. The symposium was attended by 312 community members. Cumulatively, including community presentations and special events, fbrc's youth program reached 23,990 people in our community.
Offender education programs:since the covid-19 pandemic, fbrc has not resumed offender education classes.
Community programs: in 2023, fbrc admitted 623 adults to the Substance Abuse treatment program which included both state funded, medicaid, specialty court, tdcj and other community participants.
