Program areas at Foundation for Learning in Tredyffrin Intredyffrin-Easttown
Kindergarten enrichment program: tuition assistance is provided for kindergarteners to attend a half-day academic enrichment session either before or after their regular t/e kindergarten class. The program is operated by a child's place located at each t/e elementary school.
Education awards: flite provides need-based scholarships to five graduating conestoga high school students. The scholarships support attendance at college, vocational, or other post-high school educational institutions.
After school homework: is an after-school program staffed by t/e teachers, instructional assistants and school counselors. The program provides approximately 125 students with general educational assistance, homework help, individualized tutoring, recreation, a light meal, and transportation home.
Flite also supports the following programs and needs of students: computers for kids: flite provides funds to t&e care for their purchase of computers to distribute to students for their use at home and in school. Access to a computer has become an essential resource for all students. School supplies: flite provides funds to t&e care to help purchase and distribute backpacks and other necessary school supplies for students. College readiness program: selected conestoga high school students are introduced to post high school education opportunities through flite-funded campus visits and tours. The goal is to inspire and motivate students to view college as a viable and attainable option to consider after graduation. Preschool tuition assistance: flite partners with local pre-schools to provide scholarships to several dozen disadvantaged children. This program allows children-in-need to attend preschool at little or no cost to the family, thus giving the children the opportunity to access quality early education opportunities. Learning opportunities program: Learning opportunities provides financial assistance to various academic, fine arts and leadership camps for students entering grades 4 through 12. Library summer reading: allows the Easttown library to purchase multiple copies of t/e school district required summer reading titles in print, e- book, and e-audiobook formats. These materials are then made available for borrowing by students who cannot afford to purchase the required summer reading books. Mobile hot spots: hot spots are provided to facilitate online access to students when class is held online rather than in person. Mobile hot spots also provide access for home instruction such as homework that requires internet. Calculators for kids: graphing calculators are provided to children whose families cannot afford this necessary tool to succeed in math class. Before and after care: provides academic support and socialization in a supervised environment before and after the regular scheduled elementary school day. Music in our schools: this program provides funding for instrument rentals to those students who would like to be involved in the music program, but otherwise may not be able.
