Tools 4 Seminole Schools - secures donated classroom and school supplies throughout The school year. All teachers at 38 Schools - ones with 50%+ students on free and reduced meals - are eligible to shop monthly. The remaining Schools are eligible to have a dedicated representative shop for The school once per month. Approximately 1,768,589 in product was distributed to Schools in The district so that students could start The year on The right foot.
Grants for great ideas: The grants for great ideas program allocates small grants for classroom, school or district projects. The fundamental purpose of this program is to provide The funding for classroom projects that are innovative and original with The overall goal of enhancing a student's learning experience.
Take stock in children: take stock in children is a statewide scholarship program that targets students with a financial need and a strong desire to succeed. Each spring, eighth grade students from Seminole County Public Schools are invited to apply for 27 year college scholarships through The take stock in children program.the program brought in 114 new students in The 2023-2024 fiscal year.
Families in transition: families in transition was established to serve The educational needs of children in The Seminole County school system who are considered homeless. These students "lack a fixed, regular and adequate residence; or have a primary nighttime residence that is temporary in nature; or is a place not designed or used originally as a regular sleeping accomodation for human beings." A school liason has been assigned to work with The district's elementary and secondary school, as well as The community, agencies and shelters in identifying homeless families with school-age children. Contact with The family and school is made and communication is established with The student's school, as well. Other includes many mini-grants and programs which provide educators as well as students with scholarships for further education.
