Program areas at Franklinton Board of Trade
Franklinton Special Improvement District FSID- Services performed with funding from FSID in 2023 include providing Cleaning and Safety Ambassador teams which support small businesses within Franklinton by making the community cleaner, safer, and more connected. For the eighteen (18) month period from July of 2022 through December of 2023 the Cleaning Ambassador team collected 146,555 pounds of trash, 125,945 pounds of yard waste, 53,910 pounds of dirt, plus 460 tires for disposal. The Safety Ambassador team initiated responses and answered calls for help. Initiating and fostering community relations and providing a security presence. Assisting small businesses and the community with trespassing, theft prevention, disorderly conduct, safety escorts and other services.
Monthly Luncheons/Annual Meeting/Business After Hours- These Franklinton Board of Trade functions provide members and others in the community the opprtunity to network and to hear presentations from businesses, non-profits, and other community organizations in the Franklinton area. The Annual Meeting is an opprtunity to hear about the accomplishments, membership development and financial performance of the Franklinton Board of Trade for the year, and to recognize individuals and entities for their participation and accomplishments.
Cleaner Columbus Program (including Alley Grant)- Using funds from the CARES Act provided by the City of Columbus utilize independent contractors to clean up trash from alley ways in particular in the Franklinton area. In 2023, alley cleaning and streets and sidewalk cleaning collected 197,050 pounds of trash, 107,160 pounds of yard waste, 156 tires, and an additional 2,686 bags of trash.
