Free Bikes 4 Kidz

Free Bikes 4 Kidz (FB4K) currently has affiliates in 19 cities with a goal of expanding to 100 markets nationally. In 2022, our affiliates collected donated bikes from members of their communities, organized thousands of volunteers to clean and refurbish them, and finally, partnering with local nonprofits, they gave over 26,000 bikes to children in need. As a byproduct of this process, we have kept tens of thousands of bikes out of landfills in 2022. Any bike that is beyond repair is stripped down for salvageable parts and then sent to a local recycling center. Not only have we made 26,000 kids smile in 2022, enabling them to ride into a happier and healthier future, we have engaged the community in doing so, while doing our part to save the planet.

In 2022, Free Bike 4 Kidz created a new program which enabled us to to augment our affiliates' impact by arranging for an additional 1,800 bikes to be delivered to them for distribution to children in need in their markets. This new program focuses on working with bike manufacturing and retail partners to source the bikes, eliminating waste and inefficiencies in their process. We are excited to see this program grow in the years to come.
