Program areas at Friends of Best in Alabama
Best hub support:in 2017, the gowd grant provided Best hub support through out Alabama. The hub support was to provide robot kits, competition field supplies, travel for training opportunities and various competition expenses. Approximately 180 schools and 3,600 students in Alabama were impacted.
A statewide Best awareness campaign introduced Best to an array of community leaders, superintendents, parents, businesses and various stakeholders. Each campaign demonstrated the need of Best of becoming sustainable in each community thus impacting the local workforce and ultimately a positive economic impact.
Education and workforce development resources were developed to support k-12 Best classes throughout the state of Alabama. Using the building a Best community model, all resources resulted in awareness of local and statewide businesses and industries for the students. All developed resources were online thus accessible to all Alabama students.
