Providing grants to other individuals or organizations that engage in one of the prior two activities - Friends of Dxe provides grant funds to other organizations engaging in similar activities. Friends of Dxe requests grant proposals from any interested parties. Proposals are scrutinized to ensure they are consistent with our mission and charitable purpose. Friends of Dxe requires regular reports to document how grant funds have been used.
Operating an education and community center for animal advocacy - Friends of Dxe operates the berkeley animal rights center, which hosts talks, workshops, and community events for animal advocates in the san francisco bay area. The center also hosts a small retail store where members of the public can try cruelty free consumer products.
Production and dissemination of educational materials - Friends of Dxe produces information about environmentalism and the prevention of animal cruelty that is disseminated to the public at volunteer events and demonstrations. Examples are published on the website at www.directactioneverywhere.com. Additionally, Friends of Dxe will host educational talks by invited volunteer speakers at community events
