Leverging its 2021 Notice to Proceed with Due Diligence from NYCEDC, Friends of + POOL filed permits for NYC's first river-sourced swim facility in more than 100 years. Friends of + POOL hosted its first pop-up exhibition along the Brooklyn Bridge Esplanade, launched an adult learn-to-swim program, and continued to expand its community-based enviornmental and swim education programs. Friends of + POOL continues to drive free and safe public access to the rivers around NYC through its proposed floating swimming pool, and produces programs to prepare New Yorkers for free and safe access to the waters.
