Program areas at Friends of the Pool
Thirteen scholarships were awarded to college bound students during 2023. Students had participated in various acquartic activities during their high school years and many plan to continue such involvement into college.
Began restoration work on the alligator reef lighthouse. Contractors and engineers were engaged to begin structural work and rehabilitation. Formal plans and timelines were drawn up as to the work that will be facilitated and the required resources in each stage.
Hosted the save the alligator reef lighthouse swim to raise funds to preserve the historic aquatic site of the alligator reef lighthouse. the fundraiser brought together local residents in a manner that allowed them to share their love of aquatic opportunities. All net proceeds of the save alligator reef lighthouse swim were dedictated to the restoration work of the alligator reef lighthouse.
