Program areas at Taneyhills Library
The Taneyhills Library makes available to the residents of the community over 48,000 books, movies, audiobooks, and DVDs. In 2023, over 120,000 itemswere loanded out. The Library also has 10 computers which are available to customers for a small fee of $1/hr. Photocopying, scanning, and faxing services generate income for the Library. The Library has over 4,300 members with over 90% residing in Taney County.
The largest service provided by the library is the onsite thrift store and used book store. Over 80 dedicated volunteers sort and prepare donations for resale. All proceeds go directly back to the Library to cover operating costs. The Used Book Store also serves as a depository for retired library inventory - books, CDs and DVDs. Donated items in good condition can also be added to the library's inventory as a replacement copy.
The Taneyhills Library provides educational and research facilities that are comfortable and safe. The services are available to EVERYONE. The Library also provided several children's reading programs and adult educational classes throughout the year.
