Program areas at Front Steps
Front Steps administers the Austin Resource Center for the Homeless (Arch) under a contract with the City of Austin. The Arch houses a day resource center with a clinic, and a number of co-located agencies offering employment assistance, mental health help, and other related services to assist the homeless population in Austin. It also operates a night shelter in the building which sleeps up to 190 clients. Its kitchen will feed around 190 hot meals each evening and a continental style breakfast each morning.
Americorps - Keep Austin Housed, Front Steps functions as the lead agency for Americorps members to work with a number of local nonprofits who help the homeless in many ways. Some work in womens shelters, religious backed aid programs, and similar agencies.
