Full Shelf Food Pantry

Ongoing Food needs are provided to low income families or individuals referred to the Food Pantry by various agencies within Washington county. 1,175 different families were served one time or on an ongoing basis during 2023. There were 5,760 total visits for Food. All families receiving Food must be low income. 364 new families were served during 2023. The Food distribution impacted 11,614 lives with 34% of those being children under the age of 18, and 15% senior citizens. In addition, stockboxes consisting of 35 pounds of basic Food items were distributed to low income seniors on a monthly basis. A total of 860 stockboxes were distributed in 2023. The elementary school backpack program sends Food home on weekends to 200 different families and provides breakfast and snack items to the 5/6 transitional school and the 7/8 middle schools. Food is provided weekly to the homeless shelters and to the abused women's shelter all located in west bend.
