The Gainesville Fine Arts Association engages in community outreach exhibitions and collaborations with public venues, including a major medical plaza, restaurants, and a church. The annual Studio Tour provides an opportunity for people to see art studios. Within the GFAA Gallery, 16 exhibitions were hosted with online versions available to reach a wider audience. These exhibits featured 3040 artists and 6080 pieces with awards distributed.

Program areas at Gainesville Fine Arts Association

GFAA Gallery Exhibitions: GFAA gallery hosted 15 onsite exhibitions in 2023. We continued with online versions of each exhibition as well to offer the programming to an expanded audience. Exhibits featured 40-80 artists and 60-100 pieces and awards were given. We also feature a gift shop where artists can exhibit a small body of small paintings and 3-D items, such as sculptures, ceramics, cards and jewelry.
Community Outreach Exhibitions/Activities and Community Collaborations: In 2023, GFAA continued to offer our ongoing exhibits in community public venues, including a major medical plaza, restaurants, and a church. We heldour annual Studio Tour where people can visit different artists studios. We also held our Biennial National Juried Exhibition where we bring in art from all over the country. We also continued our annual collaboration with theFriends of Elementary Arts Auction fundraiser exhibition in addition to an exhibition where artists used reused materials provided by a partnership with the Repurpose Project, another nonprofit. This year we also continuedto offer much needed in-kind exhibition space to students from the University of Florida who were graduating with fine arts degrees (B.F.A & M.F.A exhibitions).
Workshops and Classes/Networking/Mentoring: In 2022, GFAA hosted six workshops featuring nationally recognized artist-instructors. We continued with our weekly Open Studio program and continued our monthly Artists Meet-up events where artists come together to talk about the work in the current exhibition. We also held 4 quarterly Member Meetings with engaging guest speakers.
