The purposes for which the Corporation is organized are as follows: To coordinate and sustain an effective continuum of care to foster collaboration between agencies and alleviate poverty in Galveston County by focusing on persons in Galveston County, Texas, who need assistance with fundamental necessities. In times of disaster, the Corporation will coordinate the rapid, effective distribution of essential needs. During normal operations, the Corporation will connect people in crisis to services and resources that foster person-centered self-sufficiency and thriving. To support for one or more"charitable purposes", including the making of contributions to one or more "charitable organizations". The term "charitable purposes" shall include only those charitable, scientific, literary, or educational purposes within the meaning of those terms as used in Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code.
