Program areas at Gap Community
The Gap Youth Training Services, Inc. is a California non-profit religious corporation formed in 1998 with the purpose of providing facilitative leadership for Christian youth workshops for young people ages 13-18 years old as well as adults. The workshops are designed to open people's eyes to see the value of who they are, their God-given uniqueness and what they have to contribute. The outcome is elevated self-esteem, a deeper sense of community, forgiveness, repentance, a closer connection with famiy , and empowerment to make choices based on the future that they are committed to having. The workshops are 2, 3, or 4 day experiential-based learning, including a ropes course, lectures, group discussion and worship time. To fulfill the purpose, we also train and develop facilitators for the workshops. This process to facilitate training opportunities that empower, inspire and resource individuals to come alive and create a lasting inmpact in their community. AccomplishmentsIn 2023, GAP Community facilitated 22 different trainings and programs throughout 2023. We had our highest participation yet with a total of 657 attendees. That impact was made possible because of our 32 sponsors who led the charge in their own communities throughout the U.S. and internationally. In additon the sponsors, we had a total of 103 graduates who volunteered as team members throughout. We continue to see lives transformed, marriages strengthened, and families reconciled through this powerful work. Our vision is to reach 10,000 more people in the next 5 years and to have 50 trainings scheduled each year by 2029.
