Program areas at Open Science Hardware Foundation
In 2022, oshf supported 20 regional events to educate and inform scientists, educators and other audiences about Open Science Hardware and grow local communities of developers and users. Oshf also supported six collaborative projects to develop new Open tools for Science. Oshf also manages a gosh community coordinator, who spent time and resources working alongside the gosh board, council and community to run monthly welcome calls for new community members, monthly community meetings, book clubs, Open hours and other community building activities. They also maintained the gosh community newsletter and social media.
Oshf fiscally sponsored the volunteer community network friendzymes osn igem team for their participation in igem and their projects building Open source lab Hardware.
Gosh 2022 brought together 80 of the most active thought leaders in Open Science Hardware globally for a four day meeting in panama featuring talks, interactive discussions, technology workshops and sessions to plan for how to make Open Science Hardware adopted across disciplines.
