Gce Lab School

GCE Lab School provided an immersible, 4-year high school program with a student body that mirrored Chicago's socioeconomic and cultural diversity. The school had a flex tuition pay structure. 84% of students received tuition support and 100% of graduates believed they would make a difference in the world. The model proved that zip code should not determine one's opportunity to succeed. In June 2023, the Board voted to close the school due to unforeseen economic, political and enrollment issues. All students were successfully transferred to new schools.

Dreams for Kids is an education collaborative that unites cities around a shared purpose: inspiring and preparing urban youth to live into their best selves. Working with corporate, nonprofit, civic an individual partners, we leverage the intellectual property developed at GCE Lab School and collaborate on real-world learning program that help urban students find their voice as future leaders, while exposing them to inspiring career paths. In early 2022/23, Dreams for Kids Board decided to serve as fiscal sponsors for companies who were committed to providing experimental, project-based, and / or place-based education opportunities and learning resources for under-resourced and / or disenfranchised urban youth.
