Program areas at genEquality
Nudge Art is genEquality's creative leadership development program focused on equality, inclusion, and belonging. We primarily work with public schools and public housing communities on leadership skillbuilding, community organizing, public safety, and urban placemaking in creative ways. Nudge Art encompasses both educational workshops and creative expression in the form of co-designed and co-created public art. Our goal is not just to creative engage and educate; we co-create innovative, lasting, and inspiring cues for beliefs and values that translate into actions and change. To-date, we have run 37 Nudge Art programs and engaged more than 380,000 students and community members.
The Shades of Equality are data-informed colors that each tell a story about equality. genEquality partners with communities, companies, and organizations to inspire, spark conversation, and create impact in homes, classrooms, workplaces, and public spaces all around the world. The Shades of Equality are utilized in Nudge Art programming, issue-specific design sprints, and in partnerships with aligned and mission-driven companies and organizations.
The Longest Table is a community initiative run by NYC Next, which is fiscally sponsored by genEquality. It is led by neighbors, for neighbors. It serves as a way to connect, build community, eat, and have fun. It is an annual event; the 2023 Longest Table event took place in October.
Other program services include genEquality's Creators-in-Residence program as well as genEquality's organizational security efforts and initiative.
