Electric propulsion and innovation - advances policy to facilitate the integration of innovative aircraft designs, Aviation automation technologies, and propulsion systems into General Aviation. The Association collaborates closely with Aviation authorities like the federal Aviation administration, european union Aviation safety agency, transportation security administration, and national aeronautics and space administration to establish standards and certification pathways for new aircraft, technologies, and operations, ensuring safety and progress in the industry.
Environmental issues - promote steps taken by Aviation Manufacturers, and the entire Aviation value chain, to reduce the environmental impact of the business and General Aviation industry. This includes increased use of sustainable Aviation fuels; engine, airframe, and avionics technology improvements to reduce noise and emissions; and overall operational efficiencies. The Association works in collaboration with the international civil Aviation organization, federal Aviation administration, and european union Aviation safety agency to develop and monitor standards and regulations that help advance the aspirational goals of the business Aviation commitment to climate change. The Association also works to phase out the use of lead in Aviation gasoline and facilitate a safe and efficient transition to unleaded fuel for piston-engine aircraft and rotorcraft.
Government relations - promotes General Aviation policy objectives through legislative and advocacy efforts. The Association regularly meets with legislators to promote the economic contributions and societal benefits of General Aviation, and to advocate policies that benefit manfacturing jobs and industry competitiveness. The Association also conducts advocacy efforts that highlight the contributions of its member companies and their workforces in key states and localities. Finally, the Association serves as a resource to the legislators for technical and regulatory assistance with the goal of ensuring that pending legislation promotes safety and yields effective and efficient oversight by relevant safety agencies.
