Georgia Insurers Insolvency Pool was established to provide protection to Georgia resident policyholders and claimants against failure in the performance of contractual obligations due to the insolvency of an authorized insurance company, according to OCRA 33-36-1 et seq. The Pool ensures certain protections for Georgia resident policyholders and claimants of insolvent property and casualty insurance companies. In case of an admitted insurer's insolvency and liquidation, the Pool is mandated to fulfill specific obligations to these persons.
