Description
GATE or Gifted and Talented Education strives to provide excellent choral and music education to young singers in Grades K-12 during the months of August through May. Singers are given the opportunity to develop their singing voice, and to perform for special events throughout the season ranging from holiday celebrations and sporting events to domestic tours. GATE also houses a large summer enrichment program, which offers challenging and engaging courses to young learners in grades K-8. Our SummerGATE program allows students to focus on what they love during the summer months.

Program areas at Gifted and Talented Education

June - August 2023 - SummerGATE provides full day summer classes for grades K-8 running Monday-Friday from 8:45-4:45 daily, with the option of Before Care and After Care.SummerGATE supports between 150-200 students over the course of a 3-week session. Inaddition to the director and office clerk, there are 45 teachers and 20 volunteers.
October 2022 - May 2023: San Francisco Youth Chorus provides weekly choral rehearsals on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, serving between 10-30 singers per choral group.Chorus levels are split by grade: K-1, 2-3, 3-5 and 6th-12th grade. Singers prepare for 3-4 concerts each term. In addition to the director, there are 4 other instructors.
