Program areas at Girl Scouts of Central and Southern NJ
Membership development - offered 13,621 girls in grades k-12 an outcome based leadership development experience. Our programs in troops, groups, and in individual programs provide girls with the experiential education tools which they need to be individuals of courage, confidence, and character. The council had 9,417 adult members, which included 5,677 volunteers. 2,233 of them being troop leaders. The council collaborates with community organizations and businesses within its jurisdiction to offer additional programs.
Camping services - the council offered outdoor programs at four day camps. 3,552 girls attended year-round camping and troop outdoor program activities. In addition, 1,480 girls and families attended our summer day camp, troop camping and family camping programs.
Special programs - the council offered 175 special programs in all nine service counties for girls and adults. Special programs offer girls of all ages the opportunity to learn new skills, build self-esteem, and make a difference in their lives and communities. 5,385 girls attended these council sponsored programs.
