Program areas at Girl Scouts of Northern Illinois
Financial literacy - worked with 10,339 girls to teach five business skills in planning, goal setting, people skills, decision making andfinancial management.
Outreach - programming focused on communities historically underserved by Girl Scouts, including staff-led and staff-supported groups and programs. 1,070 girls served thru outreach in 2022-23.
Volunteers are instrumental in delivering the Girl scout leadership experience both through direct services to girls as well as indirectservices such as recruiting and training fellow volunteers throughout gsni's jurisdiction (16 counties in the Northern Illinois area,west of chicago, south of Wisconsin and east of Iowa) in fiscal year 2023, there were 3,268 registered adult members, approximately 76% of which are volunteers. These volunteers provided support in delivering the Girl scout leadership experience to 10,339 girls ages 5-17.
Camping - over 200 girls and their families camped at three sites to learn more about nature, wildlife and environment through group activities that challenged them physically
