Program areas at Girls on the Run of Northeast TN
During the fiscal year, Girls on the Run Northeast Tennessee served 745 girls ages 8-13 years old at 50 sites with teams in eight counties in northeast Tennessee and two counties in southwest Virginia. This character development program uses physical activity to prepare girls for a lifetime of healthy living. Girls on the Run teaches girls to activate their limitless potential and boldly change the world!
Concluding each season, a 5k race is held for participants of the Girls on the Run, achieving the physical goal of running and celebrating the Girls' lessons. During the fiscal year, hundreds of Girls, public runners, and volunteers particpate in the 5k races.
